The Vendée is a region in Pays de la Loire in France.
The symbol of the Vendée is of two hearts, shown below. The history of the symbol lies within the wars of the 18th Century in the region.
The Vendée sits between the Loire Valley and Bordeaux. There are reputable local wines in the Vendée, extensive sandy beaches, historic towns, traditional markets, fishing, bird watching and family days out to award winning attractions such as the Puy du Fou.
Some of the photos , although very recent, already look outdated with the bustling scenes and non-masked faces; France currently (September 2020) require masks to be worn in public areas.
